GraceKennedy BIRTHRIGHT PROGRAMME
GraceKennedy Limited presents an
exciting opportunity for you to experience
life in Jamaica up close and personal! If
either of your parents or grandparents is
originally from Jamaica, you could qualify
to gain work experience in a diverse range
of industries while experiencing the warmth
and hospitality for which Jamaicans are
famous.
The
GraceKennedy Jamaican Birthright Programme
is an all
expenses paid cultural and professional
internship geared at highlighting all
aspects of Jamaican life, while furthering
the career goals of the participants. It is
designed to give the successful candidates a
well-rounded Jamaican experience.
Over a two-month period, (mid June - mid
August) the interns will work on rotation
within one or more of the
companies within the GraceKennedy group
. This will grant you hands on experience in
a range of industries, while incorporating
your professional interests into your work
schedule. In addition to gaining practical
experience, the Internship will develop your
leadership skills and a good corporate work
ethic.
The core values of the Programme focus on
responsibility, hard work, courtesy,
leadership qualities, and an eagerness to
learn.
At the end of the programme the participant
will make the transition from 'Intern' to
'Ambassador' . He or she will return home
filled with a rich knowledge of their
Jamaican roots and culture and also with a
greater understanding of the Jamaican
corporate environment.

GraceKennedy will provide housing complete
with a full-time housekeeper. This is a
great opportunity for you to interact with
interns from other cultures and backgrounds.
Transportation will also be provided to and
from work Monday through Friday and on
planned weekend excursions.
It's Not All Work
In Jamaica we work and play hard so be
prepared to participate in exciting
excursions and activities. There will be a
variety of weekend programmes known as the
Heritage
Pathway , which
will expose you to Jamaican heritage by
educating you on our historic sites, natural
and human resources, and of course, our
beaches! Through our weekend programmes you
will have an opportunity to, meet Jamaicans
from all walks of life, and immerse yourself
in our rich culture and history.
HOW DO STUDENTS APPLY?

Candidates must complete an
application form

Along with the application form,
candidate will be required to
include 4 passport sized
photographs, his/her official
transcript, and a one-page essay on
why he/she would make the ideal
candidate for this programme.

Candidate must be pursuing either an
undergraduate or graduate degree
-
Candidate must have a Grade Point
Average of 3.0 or above (i.e. a 'B'
average or higher)

Candidate must be of Jamaican
parentage/grand parentage
-
Candidate must be between the ages
of 18 to 30 years old
